Tree tour

As part of this project, we have run tours of trees in Melbourne in which we visit trees, listen to segments of the project’s soundscape, and share thoughts about the trees, urban greening programs, and the project. The discussions we’ve had during the tours have been fantastic, and we wanted to make some of that experience available here.

Below, you’ll find a series of Melbourne tree places you can visit on your own. (Or, you can just check it out online.) At each place, we encourage you to listen to the accompanying clip from the project’s soundscape, which includes ambient sound, emails from people to that tree, and an imagined tree response from the artist. Using headphones is best.
